Liangjiang Small FerryTwo Rivers Ferry
🏛️ What It Is
The Liangjiang Xiaodu Ferry offers Chongqing’s most romantic Yangtze River experience—a nostalgic 15-yuan ferry ride from Hongyadong Pier to Danzishi Pier, taking about 10–20 minutes. Along the way, you’ll pass Hongyadong, Qiansimen Bridge, and the confluence of the two rivers at Chaotianmen. Take the last ferry to watch the sunset cast its glow over the confluence.
✨ Why Visit
It’s cheaper than the Yangtze River Cable Car (15 yuan vs. 20 yuan), less crowded, and offers a more complete view—taking in the confluence of the two rivers, Hongyadong, the bridge, and the sunset all at once. Locals say the ferry is a better value than the cable car.
Tips for Visitors
Board at Pier 3 at Hongya Cave
The pier is located by the river below the 11th floor of Hongyadong; take the elevator down from Hongyadong.
Take sunset photos from the west side of the deck
The setting sun is directly opposite the Qiansimen Bridge; shoot against the light to capture a “sunbeams in the hair” effect.
Common Mistakes
❌ Visit on a rainy day
I didn’t know the ferry stops running on rainy days.
Consequence: Arrived at the pier only to find the ferry service suspended. Check the weather in advance.
