The Bund is Shanghai’s most iconic landmark, a 1.5-kilometer-long waterfront promenade stretching along the west bank of the Huangpu River. On one side stand 52 century-old European-style buildings of diverse architectural styles (the International Architectural Exhibition), while on the other lies the skyline of Lujiazui’s skyscrapers.

Practical Tips
Take the Dongjin Line ferry (2 yuan) instead of the sightseeing boat
Take the Dongjin Line ferry from the Jinling East Road ferry terminal on the Bund to Lujiazui—it’s only 2 yuan, a much better deal than the 100-yuan sightseeing cruise.
Definitely don’t go to the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel
The 50-yuan ticket only covers a ride through the light tunnel in a small car—you can’t see a thing. It’s known as Shanghai’s most notorious “rip-off attraction.”
