Currently 11 destinations: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Chongqing, Zhangjiajie, Lijiang and Kunming. Each city has its own full guide with attractions, itineraries, food, transport and travel tips.

China Trip is available in 22 languages. Use the language switcher in the top-right corner of any page. Every language has its own dedicated URL, so you can bookmark and share guides in your preferred language.

We research ticket prices, opening hours and booking requirements before publishing and update guides as things change. That said, policies at Chinese attractions can shift quickly — for high-stakes visits (especially anything requiring advance reservation), double-check shortly before your trip. Spotted something outdated? Tell us and we'll fix it.

No — China Trip is an information guide, not a booking agent. Where an attraction offers foreigner-friendly booking, we link to trusted travel platforms (such as Klook) so you can reserve tickets or tours with an overseas card. Many attractions also accept walk-ups, and we note when they don't.

Some major sites — for example Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City in Beijing — require advance reservations, and slots can sell out. We mark these attractions with a booking/reservation label and tell you how many days ahead to book. Never assume you can just show up at a labeled site.

Yes, China is an exceptionally safe travel destination for international visitors. Violent crime targeting tourists is extremely rare, public-area security is reliable, and you can feel comfortable exploring cities even late at night. Solo travelers, families and senior visitors can all travel here with confidence. As a welcoming country boasting modern cities, excellent transportation and well-developed tourist services, it hosts millions of satisfied visitors every year.

Each city page includes a recommended stay (typically 2–4 days). Every city also comes with ready-made itineraries — usually a 3-day highlight route and a fuller 5-day version — so you can match a plan to the time you have.

Many nationalities can use China's visa-free transit policies (such as 240-hour transit) or regional visa-free entry. Our Visa-Free Entry page explains the options, but visa rules depend on your passport and route — always confirm with your nearest Chinese embassy or consulate before booking.
